The Black Box x Ever Eternal Presents: Denver’s Highly-Anticipated Wave Music Showcase

Haven’t you heard? The Black Box is officially the premier destination for wave music in Denver, thanks to its recently-announced residency, Ever Eternal.

The series of wave shows is set to start off with a bang in 2023. You don’t want to miss out!

Find all the need-to-know details below.

Introducing: Ever Eternal at The Black Box

Ever Eternal is a bi-monthly wave music showcase at The Black Box in Denver, CO. The shows will take place in the lounge portion of the venue. They are free to attend and open to ages 21+ only.

This ambitious project is the brainchild of esteemed wave community members Dani Oprea (w/out) and Connor Donaldson (Just Connor), who, partnered with the notable Neil Merchant (Phozee), are guaranteed to deliver an incredible experience. Each of the Ever Eternal founding members have played an integral role in establishing the wave scene across the United States–Chicago, Denver, NYC, and beyond.

In recent history, we saw Just Connor and w/out take the stage at North America’s first-ever wave festival, Pantheon, just a few weeks ago; in October, Phozee was announced as vibe.digital’s first addition to the team since its inception in 2018, representing BACKWHEN and Ktrek.

All three have deep roots in the community and continue to nurture its growth with everything that they do.

I honestly can’t imagine a better team for something like this.

Their combined passion is evident, even on social media:

The first Ever Eternal show will take place on January 28th, 2023. The lineup includes local talent 00E1, FOREST BOIS alum psycody, Ever Eternal founder Just Connor and vibe.digital‘s wave maestro, Juche.

The debut show promises to be a great time full of phenomenal vibes.

You can find all the details on the venue’s website, here.

On the day of the announcement, I was so excited that I reached out to the organizers for more details.

I was able to catch up with Dani & Neil online, and here’s what they had to say about the residency:

“We’re excited as well!! This is a massive opportunity that can’t be understated.

To be asked to hold down a residency for wave at one of the most iconic venues in America is beyond an honor.

It shows the belief they have in our genre.”

– Dani [w/out]

“I’ll add that this project is the culmination of several years of effort, [starting with] forming a scene in our respective original cities from the ground up.

Starting this project is both a goal achieved,
as well as a new beginning.”

– Neil [Phozee]

“1000% that. Connor and I were just talking about it this morning. With our experience, we can truly make this opportunity the best it can be.

We’ve learned so much these past few years, so all our moves with Ever Eternal will be calculated and with community at the forefront.”

– Dani [w/out]
