But the Mile High City contains multitudes, and many talented artists in all manner of genres await discovery. Case in point: Alt-pop breakouts N3ptune and Rusty Steve, who we previously covered, and dynamic rock trio, Shadow Work. Shadow Work melds gloom-soaked psychedelic soundscapes with jazzy rhythms and off-kilter time signatures to create an ambient and arresting atmosphere punctuated by washed-out waves of distortion. Listening to them evokes the feeling of standing on a beach in deep space, staring out at an ocean of stars, or of lying on your bed at night, staring at your ceiling and ...

Seldom does an artist make such an impression on me that their release dates get written on my literal calendar... and I will openly confess that I wrote down the release date for On Ephemeral Wings as soon as w/out announced it. There wasn't a chance in hell I was going to miss this one, and I made it my mission to ensure that you wouldn't miss out, either. Breaking Waves: Just Connor & “Hyperstrike”

Considering it has been almost exactly a year to the day since I first spoke with Just Connor about his music, I think it's only right to do this first issue of Breaking Waves about him... Especially since today is the day that the first Just Connor track of 2022 drops! Please go ahead and stream "Hyperstrike"-- I promise you, it will send you on a gorgeous sonic journey. It's what I've had on repeat all morning. By the time you reach the second drop, you will realize that no one does wave music quite like JC. Ever since that first conversation with JC, it has felt like I've been on a journey to discover w...

The BRKN Drop New Music Video For The Infectious “Not The Same”

Denver-based indie rockers The BRKN are back with a new single and music video. "Not The Same" will reel you in on the first listen. The accompanying music video is a performance piece and the vibe reminds me of The 1975 circa 2013. The band consists of Jacob Cade on vocals and guitar. Mike Bokenkamp and MJ Younkers hold down the rhythm section on drums and bass, respectively. They've just kicked off one of their biggest tours to date with The Dangerous Summer. They'll be heading overseas later this year for shows in the United Kingdom and Europe. The BRKN made their debut in the spring of 2020 with the EP No. 3 and followed that up with the Come Outside release in 2021. This year has been off to a great start for the group with the release of their "Coffee" single in January....
