Burning Man 2021 Cancelled

The iconic Burning Man Festival has been canceled. Organizers will instead focus on the 2022 event due to the lingering pandemic. Set to take place in August, the event draws thousands of people from around the world each year. The first Burning Man took place in San Franciso in the mid-1980s and has grown into an event attended by nearly 80,000 people in 2019. The 2020 edition of Burning Man was also canceled. Check the video below for the full announcement from CEO Marian Goodell. Spread out over a nine-day period, the focus on community, arts, and self-expression has endeared the event to many. Organizers have stated the decision to cancel is not based on just one factor but a combination of problems that have prevented the event to move forward. All of us at Burning Man...

girl in red Set For New Album Release and Late Night Television Debut

The multi-talented Marie Ulven is better known as girl in red and she's about to take the music world by storm. The brand new album if I could make it go quiet is on track to be released Friday. Her new single 'Serotonin' is co-produced by GRAMMY-winning producer FINNEAS who recently took home eight awards for his work with sister Billie Eilish. Ulven was due to breakout in 2020 with shows planned around the world. When everything was shut down due to the pandemic she would end up writing 11 songs at home in Oslo, Norway. When it came time to lay the tracks down, she would commute some eight hours back and forth to a studio in the Norwegian capital of Bergan. Often behind the wheel in her father's borrowed car. According to a press release, it was on these epic drives that she woul...

“The Mitchells vs. The Machines” Offers Family Fun and Then Some (Review)

I grew up on a steady diet of Looney Tunes, Hanna-Barbera shows, and Disney classics, and I'm not ashamed as a grown-ass man to still enjoy my fair share of animated films. Sure, there's plenty of family films every year that I have no interest in, but I have a soft spot for the ones that balance humor, heart, and creativity with gags that can delight a younger audience but are still genuinely funny for grown-ups. In recent years that has mostly been the stomping ground of Pixar, but they have plenty of competition now. The creative team behind "The Mitchells vs. The Machines" is worth its weight in gold. You start with Mike Rianda and Jeff Rowe (both of whom wrote for Disney's "Gravity Falls") for direction and writing duties and then add in Phil Lord and Christopher Miller ("The...

Singer/Songwriter Ian Flanigan Announces Blake Shelton Collaboration

Singer/songwriter Ian Flanigan nearly went all the way last season on NBC's The Voice. One might argue that despite a third-place finish on the show, he's really won with an exciting new collaboration with country superstar Black Shelton. On May 14, Ian's new single 'Grow Up' will be released to the public and is his first new material since singing a deal with Reviver Records. Hailing from the upstate New York town of Saugerties, he's spent the last decade laying the ground work for future success. Fresh off a performance at the 50th-anniversary celebration of Woodstock at the site of the world-famous festival, he and his family sold their belongings and hit the road in a Winnebago to spread his music around the country. Who could have predicted that just a few months into this j...

Highly Anticipated ‘Typhoons’ Album From Royal Blood Drops Friday

U.K.-based duo Royal Blood is set to deliver their first album of new material in nearly four years on Friday. Typhoons is a clear step forward for the band and are set to build on the success of already released singles 'Trouble's Coming' and the title track 'Typhoons'. When Royal Blood's Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher sat down to discuss the new album initially, they consciously decided on a return to their roots. Influenced by the likes of Daft Punk, Justice, and others, the dynamic results find the band really hitting their stride on tracks like 'Million and One' and 'Limbo'. “It is without a doubt the most ambitious and wildest we have allowed ourselves to be and we can’t wait to invite you this far down the rabbit hole with us.”-Royal Blood There's still a little time to pre-o...

Bob Odenkirk Delivers A Bit Of The Old Ultra-Violence in “Nobody” (Review)

If you're anything like me, the name Bob Odenkirk immediately serves up thoughts of laughter. Originally a comedy writer for Conan O'Brien, "Saturday Night Live," and, of course, the co-star of HBO's cult classic "Mr. Show with Bob and David," he transitions into full-blown action star in this new thriller from director Ilya Naishuller ("Hardcore Henry"). Odenkirk plays Hutch Mansell, quite literally a morality play "everyman." He works in a boring office for his father-in-law and lives a very quiet life with his family. There isn't much spark left with his wife Becca (Connie Nielsen) and his son Brady (Gage Munroe) bears obvious disdain towards him. It's not until their house is broken into and a confrontation is had with the robbers that it becomes clear that things may not be e...

Junket Release Follow-up Single ‘Embers To Ashes’

New York-based alt-rockers Junket has just launched a smoldering follow-up single in the form of 'Embers To Ashes' from their new Make Waves EP. The track comes on the heels of the successful 'Red Handed' release, a song inspired by the popular SHOWTIME show 'Dexter'. Junket is made up of vocalist Chris Wicher, guitarist Michael Miller, bassist Kyle Hallenbeck, and drummer Chad Babcock. All hailing from Orange County, New York the band is a tight-knit group. According to a recent press release, Wicher states the song is '...about a relationship between two people who have an irrational fear of being alone but stay together despite all the reasons why they shouldn’t. The relationship may have started out strong like a roaring fire, but the honeymoon phase fizzled. Junket was ab...

Fyre Festival Attendees Set To Win Thousands As Part Of A Class Action Suit

The infamous Fyre Festival was to take place over two weekends in the spring of 2017 and was promoted as a high-end affair. Those who did make it to the island destination, found it to be an experience they'd surely rather forget. According to NPR, nearly 300 people could be looking at $7,000+ payouts as part of a recent ruling. Another hearing is set for mid-May and the results will determine whether the compensation goes through and exactly how much these folks will receive. The festival was founded by Fyre Media CEO Billy McFarland and rapper Ja Rule, the event was meant to promote a new music booking app. The deep lineup was set to include everyone from Blink 182 to Tyga to Major Lazer. The initial buzz around the event took the internet by storm and organizers hired a number ...
