Ninth Studio Album From Punk Rockers Rise Against Due This Summer

Chicago's Rise Against is back with freshly baked music and a new record to talk about. Nowhere Generation will be their first album of original material since 2017s Wolves. Expect a June 4 release on the streaming platforms and at your local record shop. Rise Against, hands down, was one of the most high-energy concert experiences of my life. They're on the shortlist of bands to see once larger events are deemed safe. In the meantime check out their latest tune 'Nowhere Generation. It's the second single from the new album after 'Broken Dreams, Inc.' was released last fall. Four years is a long time to wait between albums but based on the first two tracks, the wait is worth it. For updates, there are lots of places to follow Rise Against online like Twitter, Instagram, and Faceboo...

HeIsTheArtist Drops New Single ‘Virgin’

HeIsTheArtist has a new powerful single, "Virgin" out now. The new song from the American Christian singer-songwriter from Central Islip, NY., expands the topic of temptation that was previously the center topic of his single, "The Snake Charmer" and his EP Adam & Eve. HeIsTheArtist says, 'Virgin' delves into the experience of a Catholic Nun taking a vow of abstinence and how difficult that is while living in a society where the temptation of sex is everywhere. The lyrics “It's you I like, it’s not me” references the promise that nuns make to rid themselves of all vanity in order to be able to focus fully on God’s work." HeIsTheArtist is influenced by the music of Kim Burrell, Carrie Underwood, Prince, and Michael Jackson. He considers himself an eclectic artist who merges diffe...

Todays Musicians Should Consider Releasing Music As NFTs

First of all, what is an NFT and how can it benefit bands and musicians on the scene today? NFT stands for non-fungible token and it's all the rage at the moment. When you purchase a digital form of collectible whether it's music, art, or even a comic book, because ownership is recorded on a blockchain, each copy is unique and tied to the person who purchased the digital item. What this prevents is the pirating of any type of media sold as an NFT by the artist. According to Rolling Stone, Kings of Leon is the first high-profile act to release a full album as an NFT. Set to be released on Friday When You See Yourself is the band's first new music since the October 2016 release of Walls. The album will be available through all the conventional channels but it's the release through NFT si...

Eve 6 are back on the scene with a new single and EP on the way. On February 4th the new song 'black nova' was released and it's the first taste of new music from the band since 2012's Speak In Code album. The grim value EP is set to be released on June 25th on Velocity Records. According to their profile on the labels' website the band has 'had all the terminally predictable ups and downs of every other band that's been chewed up and spit out by the machine. their new shit is good but no one will listen or care'. But, we're listening and we care and are looking forward to hearing more new music from the project. Since late 2020 Eve 6 has practically owned Twitter, trolling everyone from Jimmy Fallon to Third Eye Blind. There's a lot to digest on their feed, but here's a good plac...

Five Reasons Why 2021 Will Be A Great Year For New Alt Music

The pandemic has led to a lot of downtime for bands and musicians in the absence of full touring schedules. Many have channeled their energies into writing and producing new material. 2021 is shaping up to be a great year for new music so let’s dive into five artists who have albums coming.  Bleachers Singer/songwriter Jack Antonoff is set to drop a new album later this year after releasing a surprise collaboration with fellow New Jersey resident Bruce Springsteen in November called ‘Chinatown’. Antonoff, a prolific writer collaborating with the likes of Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey in recent years, is also known as a member of Fun. and Steel Train. But it’s with Bleachers he’s at his best channeling a nostalgic feel for the 80s and 90s while incorporating soaring me...
