Five September Album Releases That Should Be On Your Radar

This fall is shaping up to be an excellent season for new music. Here’s a look at 5 September album releases that should be on your radar. Streaming is fine but please consider supporting your local independent record store.

1. YUNGBLUD YUNGBLUD

Release Date: September 2nd

YUNGBLUD will release his third studio album on September 2nd. The self-titled release will feature stand-out tracks like “The Funeral”, “Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today” and “Memories” featuring Willow. He’s set to perform a series of low-key shows at US record stores in September before moving on to performances on big stages at Riot Fest, Louder Than Life Fest, and Firefly.

2. Ozzy Osbourne Patient Number 9

Release Date: September 9th

The new album Patient Number 9 from Ozzy is his 13th solo release. Iconic artist Todd McFarlane directed the music video for the title track. Be on the lookout for guest appearances from Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, and Mike McCready of Pearl Jam. Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith plays drums on most of the album while the late Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters performs on three songs.

3. Death Cab For Cutie Asphalt Meadows

Release Date: September 16th

Asphalt Meadows is the 10th studio album from Death Cab For Cutie and the first since 2018s Thank You For Today. They’ll embark on an extensive fall tour in support of the release.

4. Marcus Mumford (self-titled)

Release Date: September 16th

The new self-titled project from Marcus Mumford is his first as a solo artist. The album drops on September 16th and he’ll follow up the release with tour dates in November.

5. Yeah Yeah Yeahs Cool It Down

Release Date: September 30th

Cool It Down is the fifth studio release from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. It’s their first new album in nine years. Formed out of New York City in 2000, each of their first three albums was nominated for Grammys. Will this project be the one that brings home an award?
