Chief State Drop New Pop-Punk Single “Team Wiped”

Canadian band Chief State is here to help usher in a pop-punk revival with the release of their new single "Team Wiped". Along with the single drop we have details on the release of their debut full-length album. Waiting For Your Colours is set for a July 1st premiere on Mutant League Records. Hailing from the Vancouver area, the album is a result of five years of hustle as a band. Waiting For Your Colours follows up the stand-alone single 'Metaphors" from last year and the 2020 EP "Tough Love". After spending time with each, the band has clearly taken a big step forward with "Team Wiped". Not to say their previous efforts weren't quality, it's clear they're growing as songwriters and production values have improved with this release. Frontman Fraser Simpson who left his home i...

Jukebox The Ghost Collab w/Andrew McMahon On New Single “Wasted”

Piano pop trio Jukebox the Ghost has released a new single "Wasted". The uptempo song features prolific singer/songwriter Andrew McMahon. He not only composed but sings on the track too. Along with the single, details on their upcoming sixth studio album have emerged. This comes on the heels of the release of the first two songs off the new album Cheers. "Romona" and the title track "Cheers!" are part of a three-year recording process. Jukebox The Ghost opted to self-produce the new album which is set to be released on May 27th. Their 2018 release Off To The Races spawned the catchy "Everybody's Lonely" which saw airplay on radio stations across the country. While not a major hit, the song opened a lot of doors for the talented trio and set them up for a potential breakthrough with...

Pent-up demand has resulted in sold-out shows across the country while many have been moved to larger venues. The tour is in support of their self-titled debut album which was released last fall. The BRKN Drop New Music Video For The Infectious “Not The Same”

Denver-based indie rockers The BRKN are back with a new single and music video. "Not The Same" will reel you in on the first listen. The accompanying music video is a performance piece and the vibe reminds me of The 1975 circa 2013. The band consists of Jacob Cade on vocals and guitar. Mike Bokenkamp and MJ Younkers hold down the rhythm section on drums and bass, respectively. They've just kicked off one of their biggest tours to date with The Dangerous Summer. They'll be heading overseas later this year for shows in the United Kingdom and Europe. The BRKN made their debut in the spring of 2020 with the EP No. 3 and followed that up with the Come Outside release in 2021. Cowboy Junkies Prep New Album “Songs of the Recollection”

Cowboy Junkies are pulling out all the stops for their new album. They're reinterpreting classics from artists like Neil Young, The Cure, David Bowie, and others for "Songs of the Recollection". The album is due March 25th and features songs that inspired its members at different points in their lives. The band, formed in the mid-80s is still together with the original lineup intact (which seems to be a rarity these days). It's a family affair with siblings Michael Timmins on guitar, Margo Timmins on vocals, and Peter Timmins on drums. A lifelong friend of Michael, Alan Anton rounds out the lineup playing bass. Worth mentioning is the fact that they have welcomed a number of guest musicians along the way including multi-instrumentalist Jeff Bird who has played on all albums but the fir...

LISTEN: SHAED Covers Nirvana’s “Come As You Are”

In honor of the 30th anniversary of its original release, SHAED has released a cover of Nirvana's "Come As You Are". Originally released on March 2nd, 1992, the Washington D.C.-based group put their own spin on the track. "Come As You Are" was the second single to be released off of the landmark Nevermind album from Nirvana. It followed the release of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and marked the last time the band had a Top 40 hit on their hands. Recorded in 1991 and produced by Butch Vig, there was some reluctance on even releasing the song as a single due to similarities to Killing Joke's "Eighties". Ultimately it was released and the rest, as they say, is history. SHAED made a name for themselves with the breakout hit "Trampoline" in the summer of 2018. Their album High Dive followe...

Kings County Drop Blistering New Rock Single “Equilibrium”

Florida rockers' Kings County new single is out and it's their strongest effort to date. "Equilibrium" is a blistering up-tempo rock track that is sure to please not only their dedicated fanbase but fans of hard rock in general. Heavy guitar riffs coupled with deep lyrics and a soaring chorus are the recipe for success here. The band has experienced a steady rise over the 18 months. They've garnered more than a million views on YouTube for their breakout track "Bleed These Tears". That's in addition to the hundreds of thousands of streams to complement those efforts. Kings County consists of Dexter on vocals and bass. Steve Bell and Bill Kania play guitar with Joe Lopez holding it down behind the drum kit. The band collaborated with producer/engineer Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Tant...
