AlienBlaze Enters her Villain Era with “Enemies With Benefits”

UK-based singer-songwriter AlienBlaze is back with a catchy new genre-defiant song, "Enemies With Benefits," out now via Sumerian Records. This release marks the artist's third with the label since her 2022 signing. It follows her inaugural single, "Not Yours Never Was," and her recent collaboration with OmenXIII, "Lovesick". Produced by The Nocturns, and loosely inspired by Elton John's “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," AlienBlaze denotes this song as one of her favorite releases to date. We definitely can see why. Make sure to take a few minutes and check this one out. Alienblaze & OmenXIII Make Angst Cool Again With “Lovesick”

There is something addictive about the (fictional) tortured love affair--otherwise, primetime dramas and bodice rippers wouldn't have much of a market, would they? I mean, c'mon--the angst! The intensity! The rawness of it all! But, sometimes you just don't have the time for a full-length story, like with a TV series or in a novel, yet still crave the *drama*. This song also represents a point of nostalgia for us--back when emo music was at its delightfully melodramatic prime. If you're looking to escape for a while--or want something to scream along to while you drive with all your windows down--why ...

I thought I'd be able to put together a piece celebrating women & femmes in music in no time, but here we are. In May. Don't get me wrong--I immediately had an idea as to who I wanted to write about. Like, when I asked myself, "OK, Women's Month-- woohoo! Time to write. Best chick in music right now, go." I did have a name pop up in my head. But it felt too easy. Too immediate. So, I sat with that thought for a moment. "Why did my mind immediately jump to her?" Because her music is bomb, of course. There was no lie there. She wasn't a cop-out. I absolutely wanted to celebrate her during women's month, I...
