Chicago punk rock band Bad Planning just released a new song and it is one you don’t want to miss. The track, called “Throw,” is full of energy and will get your adrenaline pumping. If you’re looking for a new punk rock anthem to add to your playlist, here’s something to consider.
Bad Planning has been compared to Chicago-based bands such as Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, and The Lawrence Arms. In 2019 they released their latest album called “Splitting Hairs”. The album featured some heavier material with singles like “Be Brave” and “Actor”.
The four-piece, consisting of Alex Crook, Jack Coombs, Aaron Hornback, and Miles Schuett teamed with Jump Start Records in May of 2021. They share a DIY ethos and love for punk rock. Bad Planning has begun to grow outside of their local scene as their sound continues to develop.
Landing at Jump Start Records
Finding a home on Jump Start Records is a logical next step for Bad Planning. The label has been home to some of the best up-and-coming bands in recent years. Their newest recruits were freshmen when they first started writing songs together. They’re still booking their own shows and getting to play with some of their favorite bands. But, the next level is right around the corner for Bad Planning if they play their cards right.
This record represents a lot of growth for our band; past sound blending with new sound, and longtime bandmates with new ones. Writing this record gave us a sense of purpose during lockdown, and we can’t wait to share it.
-Bad Planning
Their sound is unique but familiar if that makes sense. They bring together elements of hardcore, emo, and skate punk. Mix vigorously with a pop-punk sensibility and you’ve got Bad Planning.
Be sure to keep your eye out for the new album Et Fortes set for release on May 6th. Stay in touch with the band if you like what you hear by following along on Instagram and Twitter.
