Handheld Drops Video For “Flip The Scrip”

Canadian punk rockers Handheld recently released their first studio album in 14 years. They've just dropped a music video for their high-octane new single "Flip The Scrip". Handheld was formed in the late 90s out of Ontario. They recorded and performed actively for a decade. After 6 albums and hundreds of concerts, they went on hiatus in 2008. They reformed in 2018 with the intent of performing a few reunion shows. Just as things were starting to heat back up, the world froze as the pandemic set in. Instead of performing live, they turned their focus to recording A Canadian Tragedy. New Music Video With the new video and temperatures starting to drop, the band wanted to revisit summer vibes and shine a light on all the fun they had performing. "It may be getting a little c...

Punk Rockers Boss’ Daughter Release Rowdy New Single “Photography”

Coming straight out of Reno, Nevada punk rockers Boss' Daughter just released a rousing new single called "Photography". The track is featured on a 2-song 7-inch limited vinyl release called Okay Photography. Limited to just 250 copies, it's available now through SBAM Records. "Photography" is everything a punk rock song should be. Fast, loud, and a little rough around the edges. Throw in some catchy melodies and group harmonies, coming in at under two minutes, the band leaves you wanting more. Photo Credit: Lindsay Dimitri The good news is their new album is completed and will be out sometime in the new year after recently signing with SBAM. We'll certainly post an update when we learn the specific release date. Getting To Know The Band The band formed in 2014 and has s...

Pulley To Release The Golden Life On SBAM Records

Longtime Southern California punk-rockers Pulley has announced plans to release a new album, The Golden Life. Along with that, they've dropped a new single which happens to be the title track. And as if that wasn't enough, they've announced a European tour supporting Bad Religion and Pennywise. Pulley formed in 1995 and signed a record deal with Epitaph shortly afterward. Over the next decade, they built a passionate fan base of punk rock fans. They released five albums and didn't let the fact their singer was a major league baseball player get in their way. Frontman Scott Radinsky spent more than a decade playing for teams like the White Sox, Dodgers and Cardinals. Coming out of the bullpen, he sported a more than respectable 3.44 ERA over more than 550 major league games. After ...

[Interview] Shut Up & Play Some Pop Punk: A Chat with Mikei Gray of The Frst

Given the fact that that the When We Were Young festival sold out in mere hours (and now has not only a 2nd, but a 3rd date), it shouldn't be surprising that pop punk is here to stay. It certainly doesn't surprise Mikei Gray of The Frst, whose latest single, "Pop Punk Song", captures the mood of an entire generation in a simple, yet catchy way.   So, to quote The Frst, allow me to "shut the fuck up and play some pop punk" for you: "Pop Punk Song" by The Frst: streaming now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P21z4WWp5w4&feature=youtu.be My favorite thing about The Frst's "Pop Punk Song" is that while it's got that catchy, cathartic chorus that's just begging to be screamed at a show, it's also campy and self-aware. At first, I...

Green Day To Release One Song Per Week Leading Up To BBC Sessions Album Drop

Punk rock icons Green Day are digging into the archives and releasing a collection of recordings from the BBC's legendary Maida Vale Studios. The BBC Sessions will showcase recordings from 1994, 1996, 1998, and 2001. The collection marks the first time these recordings will be properly mastered for official release. The first session which took place in 1994, occurred just months after Green Day dropped their seminal Dookie album. The band was raw and raucous and ripped through a four-song set that included "She," "When I Come Around," "Basket Case," and "2000 Light Years." They'd return three more times over the next seven years capturing the band at different stages of their career, capped with the 2001 session during Green Days' Warning era. Set for release on December 10,...
