Zebrahead’s 20-Year Journey: From Grammy Nominations to ‘Middle Seat Blues’

Zebrahead Orange County, CA native Zebrahead has been bringing its unique blend of punk, metal, and devil-may-care grooves to the masses for years. Their latest single "Middle Seat Blues" is no exception. At the helm of Zebrahead is vocalist/rapper Ali Tabatabaee and vocalist/guitarist Adrian Estrella, who is also the band's frontman. Rounding out the lineup are bassist Ben Osmundson, drummer Ed Udhus, and guitarist Dan Palmer. When asked about the meaning behind "Middle Seat Blues," Estrella had this to say. "It's about surrounding yourself with quality, not quantity. Not everyone around you has your best interests in mind." Osmundson added, "It's a song that combines a bit of metal, a bit of laid-back groove, and splashes a bit of punk on top. Hard to imagine right? Well, give...

Jimmy Eat World Gets Creative For “Place Your Debts” Music Video

Photo Credit: Jimi Giannatti The Jimmy Eat World resurgence continues with a new song and unique music video release. Frontman Jim Adkins, himself, directed the footage used for "Place Your Debts". The new release follows the successful DIY launch of "Something Loud" this past summer and the acoustic version of the song a few months later. This is the second music video in a row in that Adkins had a large role in video production. With the stripped-down version of "Something Loud" he spent about a week editing the finished product after recording the audio in a single day. The music video for "Place Your Debt"s was a far more complicated project. The footage was shot while on tour throughout the U.S., U.K., and Europe this past summer. Each segment has a different background w...

"Lifeless Stars" will be included on Fever Dream and will be released on October 28th. If you're just getting to know Palaye Royale, their music can be described as equal parts brit-pop, glam rock, and art-punk. It's a family affair as the band was formed in 2008 by three brothers Remington Leith (vocals), Sebastian Danzig (guitar), and Emerson Barrett (drums). Sebastian, the oldest of the Kropp brothers, was born in Canada but they moved to Las Vegas shortly after birth. As teenagers, they moved to Los Angeles where they paid their dues in the local rock 'n' roll scene. On The Road Over the years they've developed a...

Jimmy Eat World's latest single "Something Loud" is available wherever you listen to music. The track features all the hallmarks of a classic Jimmy Eat World song. Opening with punchy guitar riffs, incorporating dynamic instrumental elements throughout, and with the finishing touch of melodic, heartfelt vocals from Jim Adkins. Photo Credit: Jimi Giannatti "Something Loud" was co-produced by Jimmy Eat World and Justin Meldal-Johnson. The song is new but it feels like something that could have been written in the early days of the band. In fact, it was the excitement surrounding the announcement of October's When We Were Young Festival that inspired Adkins. The reaction brought about a time of intense emotional and professional contemplation which he channeled into "Something Lou...
