What You Need to Know for a Phone Free Concert

Credit - John Mark Arnold on Unsplash Jack White has been out on the road this summer supporting his latest album on his 'Supply Chain Issues' tour. If you have been to one of his shows anytime over the last few years, there is a good chance that your concert experience was different than any other time in this century.  The reason being is that Mr. White wanted his concerts to be a 'phone-free' experience. How was this accomplished?  He employed the technology of a company called Yondr. If you are at all like us, you're asking yourself, "What the hell is Yondr?". https://twitter.com/eclecticmess/status/1562272201851666432 The company was founded way back in 2014. We never would have guessed in 2014 that artists would start banning cell phone use at th...

Jack White Debuts Heartfelt New Single & Music Video For “Love Is Selfish”

Jack White is as versatile as they come. One minute loud and raucous, the next quiet and introspective. He's set to have a productive year with two solo albums slated for release in 2022. After coming out hard with the first single "Taking Me Back" from his new album Fear of the Dawn (due in April), "Love Is Selfish" puts his softer side on display. The latter of which will be featured on his planned summer release, Entering Heaven Alive. This is the kind of material I'm looking for from White. Sure he's most often at his best with loud distorted guitars but he's got a softer side. 'Love Is Selfish' is just him and his guitar with some light percussion in the background to help keep the train on the tracks. You can check it out below after its debut or on your favorite streaming platfo...

Jack White Releases Two Dramatically Different Versions of New Single “Taking Me Back”

Jack White is back with a brand new single and it happens to be featured in the trailer for the new Call of Duty video game. White, no stranger to pushing the envelope, has decided to release two different versions of the song. According to a press release at the Third Man Records site, "Taking Me Back" was recorded in Nashville at Third Man Studios. White can be heard singing and playing each of the instruments on the track (not at the same time, obviously). The release is White's first new material to be released in four years. To date, White has built up quite a resume. He's a 12-time GRAMMY® Award-winner and 36-time nominee. All three of his solo albums – 2012’s BLUNDERBUSS, 2014’s LAZARETTO, and 2018’s BOARDING HOUSE REACH debuted at #1 on the Billboard (Soundscan) chart. ...
