Denver’s own beloved pop-punk band, Bury Mia, has dropped their latest single titled “Daddy Issues.” The song follows the success of their previously released “We’ve Been Trying to Reach You About Your Car’s Extended Warranty.” Once again, the band enlisted the help of producer Andrew Berlin, who has worked with Rise Against, A Day To Remember, and Teenage Bottlerocket. Berlin recorded the track at The Blasting Room, which is a legendary studio in Colorado. You can now stream “Daddy Issues” everywhere you like listening to music.
Bassist Devin Martinez revealed that the song’s inspiration comes from his childhood and the issues he faced while growing up. The song talks about a person who was in and out of his life and how he came to terms with the fact that the person would never return. The chorus of the song is exaggerated with the word “Liar” as that individual in his life couldn’t commit to anything, including the title of father.

Since the band’s inception, they have come a long way. They started out practicing in sweaty garages and have gone on to pack rowdy shows across the West Coast. Bury Mia has toured the West Coast and has made a significant impact on their local scene. They have headlined successful shows at iconic Denver venues like The Ogden Theatre and The Gothic and have opened for major national acts such as Boys Like Girls and State Champs.
Bury Mia’s music is passionate and speaks volumes about the group’s mission to issue their hard-earned music into the world. The band members’ brotherhood and passion for their music show in every note they play. They firmly believe in their sound and have planted a flag in the punk genre that they’ve been dialing in from the beginning. Bury Mia’s music is big, loud, and undeniably punk.
If you’re in Boulder, CO, on May 5th, don’t miss Bury Mia’s upcoming show at the Fox Theater. The band’s lineup consists of Justin O’Neal on vocals and guitar, Devin Martinez on bass and vocals, Stevan Alt on guitar, and Marcus Allen-Hille on drums. Bury Mia is a group that demands success, and their music is a reinvention of sorts with a unique freshness that sets them apart from the rest.
