Punk rock supergroup Fire Sale is back with a new 2-song single. With “A Fools Errand” and “We Dance For Sorrow” the band delivers two memorable jams with killer harmonies and melodic hooks.
Fire Sale is made up of Matt Riddle (Face to Face/No Use For A Name), Chris Swinney (The Ataris), Pedro Aida (Ann Beretta) along with Matt Morris. The new material was recorded at The Blastroom which is owned by Bill Stevenson of The Descendents.
I wrote the music to this song while I was extremely ill about 10-12 years ago. The bassline came about by testing myself, to see if I could still play at all. It has a weird picking style, kind of a banjo-ish thing. Thumb and first two fingers. It’s a pretty simple chord progression, but when I showed the guys, they seemed to really like it. Pedro wrote this killer vocal melody with rad harmonies, Chris tracked the guitars and Matt laid down these insane drums.

The release of Fire Sale’s new single is just the third release for the recently relaunched Negative Progression Records. Founder Seth Hyman has returned to the music industry after an eight year gap in the law profession.
NPR earned a repuation for finding supporting young bands, helping them get out of the garage and on the road. And with the relaunched label, Hyman has picked up right where he left off.
In the meantime, Fire Sale is apparently catching the attention of the folks over at SIRIUS/XM. Visit with Fire Sale on social media and let them know if you’ve heard the song. Follow along on Facebook and Instagram.
