Jukebox The Ghost Collab w/Andrew McMahon On New Single “Wasted”

Piano pop trio Jukebox the Ghost has released a new single "Wasted". The uptempo song features prolific singer/songwriter Andrew McMahon. He not only composed but sings on the track too. Along with the single, details on their upcoming sixth studio album have emerged. This comes on the heels of the release of the first two songs off the new album Cheers. "Romona" and the title track "Cheers!" are part of a three-year recording process. Jukebox The Ghost opted to self-produce the new album which is set to be released on May 27th. Their 2018 release Off To The Races spawned the catchy "Everybody's Lonely" which saw airplay on radio stations across the country. While not a major hit, the song opened a lot of doors for the talented trio and set them up for a potential breakthrough with...

The BRKN Drop New Music Video For The Infectious “Not The Same”

Denver-based indie rockers The BRKN are back with a new single and music video. "Not The Same" will reel you in on the first listen. The accompanying music video is a performance piece and the vibe reminds me of The 1975 circa 2013. The band consists of Jacob Cade on vocals and guitar. Mike Bokenkamp and MJ Younkers hold down the rhythm section on drums and bass, respectively. They've just kicked off one of their biggest tours to date with The Dangerous Summer. They'll be heading overseas later this year for shows in the United Kingdom and Europe. The BRKN made their debut in the spring of 2020 with the EP No. 3 and followed that up with the Come Outside release in 2021. This year has been off to a great start for the group with the release of their "Coffee" single in January. ...

[Interview]: Bandcamp Friday, The Wave Community, and… Halo? A Chat With The UK’s ‘Lo-Fi-Wave’ Producer, Seraph.

We got another BandCamp Friday gift: one of my favorite producers, Seraph., dropped a new track, "Virmire", today! In honor of this surprise, we decided to sit down and have a little chat about the state of the scene, what's next for this UK-based producer, and more. Stream "Virmire", on BandCamp, below, and read on to learn more about Seraph. Vermire by Seraph To get us started, would you please tell us just a little bit about yourself? And, if you don’t mind my asking--where did the moniker "Seraph." come from? Sure thing! My name is James. I’m a 24-year-old Music Producer from the Northeast of the UK, and I like to make sad music with even sadder guitar melodies. As for where I got the “Seraph” alias from, it’s kind of a nerdy story [laughs]. I gr...

LISTEN: SHAED Covers Nirvana’s “Come As You Are”

In honor of the 30th anniversary of its original release, SHAED has released a cover of Nirvana's "Come As You Are". Originally released on March 2nd, 1992, the Washington D.C.-based group put their own spin on the track. "Come As You Are" was the second single to be released off of the landmark Nevermind album from Nirvana. It followed the release of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and marked the last time the band had a Top 40 hit on their hands. Recorded in 1991 and produced by Butch Vig, there was some reluctance on even releasing the song as a single due to similarities to Killing Joke's "Eighties". Ultimately it was released and the rest, as they say, is history. SHAED made a name for themselves with the breakout hit "Trampoline" in the summer of 2018. Their album High Dive followe...

A Chat With The Young Legend, MAYKO.

"...the whole purpose of music, in my opinion, is to transport people into a place, into a feeling..." If there is any name you need to remember in 2022, it's Mayko's. You're certainly going to be seeing it everywhere soon.  You may already be familiar with Mayko through his release with Sable Valley, or perhaps you remember him from a vibe.digital podcast, or stumbled upon him another way. (If not, you can get introduced to Mayko in our “Release Radar’s Greatest Hits, Volume 3”).  Perhaps the best way to get to know him is through his own words, though, right?  Well, we were lucky enough to be able to interview Mayko about his art and artistry, what he’s learned on his journey so far–as well as what’s coming next for ‘The Young Legend’.   For y...

Kings County Drop Blistering New Rock Single “Equilibrium”

Florida rockers' Kings County new single is out and it's their strongest effort to date. "Equilibrium" is a blistering up-tempo rock track that is sure to please not only their dedicated fanbase but fans of hard rock in general. Heavy guitar riffs coupled with deep lyrics and a soaring chorus are the recipe for success here. The band has experienced a steady rise over the 18 months. They've garnered more than a million views on YouTube for their breakout track "Bleed These Tears". That's in addition to the hundreds of thousands of streams to complement those efforts. Kings County consists of Dexter on vocals and bass. Steve Bell and Bill Kania play guitar with Joe Lopez holding it down behind the drum kit. The band collaborated with producer/engineer Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Tant...

Adams Traktor Drops Optimistic New Single “You Found A Way”

The new single from Adams Traktor is a bit of a departure from their previous work. "You Found A Way" finds songwriter JR Smith switching it up from the darker lyrics present on previous songs. Instead, the track is more of an upbeat love song. It combines elements of rock, pop, and even a hint of some 80s era synth. Adams Traktor is a project formed by JR Smith who is originally from Seattle. While from the west coast, he has called Europe home for more than two decades. Having worked in the technology field, music has always been a major part of his existence. According to an article in Vogue, he went for a five-month job and up staying. Smith's goal with Adam's Traktor is to explore and take alternative rock music to another level. On "You Found A Way" he taps into his own life e...
