Muse Celebrating 20th Anniversary of Origin of Symmetry Album With Remixx Edition

Hard to believe it's been 20 years. Experimental alt/rockers Muse are set to reflect upon the success of their sophomore album release Origin of Symmetry. The new XX Anniversary Remixx Edition will be released on June 18. The album originally topped the charts in the UK in July of 2001 but wasn't available in the United States until four years later due to some issues with the record label. By then US fans were wrapping their heads around songs from the Absolution album which included break-out singles 'Time Is Running Out' and 'Hysteria'. So while a success across the pond and appreciated by fans, the album never got a proper spotlight in the states. Muse's Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenholme are celebrating their 27th year as a band. They've got two Grammy's and a...

Apple TV+ Premieres “1971” Series on Friday (Review)

A phenomenal new docuseries entitled "1971: The Year That Music Changed Everything" is premiering on AppleTV+ this Friday, May 21. Using David Hepworth's book "Never A Dull Moment: 1971 The Year That Rock Exploded" as inspiration, an award-winning team of filmmakers has crafted a highly bingeable eight-part series that intertwines the music and politics of this volatile and highly creative moment in history. I've been able to preview the first five episodes of the series, which was executive produced by Asif Kapadia and James Gay-Rees ("Amy," "Senna") and really wanted to put this on people's radar because even as a music lover since childhood, this was absolutely packed with footage and stories I had never seen before. Each episode hovers between 45 and 50 minutes, but manages t...

Greg Amici Drops New Single and Video for “Remedy”

Greg Amici, the multi-talented musician, writer and actor from New Jersey, is back with a new single and video "Remedy", which is out now. It's the follow-up to his well-received single, "In Like a Lion" from his forthcoming LP Tragicomic.Amici says, ‘“Remedy” is about a guy with fairly impersonal needs and a partner whose sensual desires may have morphed into something stronger. Or else it’s about COVID… Musically, it’s sort of a sing-along shanty. And, in times like these, I suppose 'we all need a remedy.' "Right? Right.""Remedy" was produced by James Mastro (The Bongos, Mott the Hoople, Patti Smith, The Jayhawks) at Magic Door Recording (Montclair, NJ). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCklxXprJtA

Singer/Songwriter Ian Flanigan Announces Blake Shelton Collaboration

Singer/songwriter Ian Flanigan nearly went all the way last season on NBC's The Voice. One might argue that despite a third-place finish on the show, he's really won with an exciting new collaboration with country superstar Black Shelton. On May 14, Ian's new single 'Grow Up' will be released to the public and is his first new material since singing a deal with Reviver Records. Hailing from the upstate New York town of Saugerties, he's spent the last decade laying the ground work for future success. Fresh off a performance at the 50th-anniversary celebration of Woodstock at the site of the world-famous festival, he and his family sold their belongings and hit the road in a Winnebago to spread his music around the country. Who could have predicted that just a few months into this jo...
