Chicago five-piece Wilmette gives us a glimpse of the good old days with the music video for their new single, “Circa ‘99”. If you loved playing Guitar Hero back in the day like we all did, then you’ll know exactly what we mean as soon as you load up their new video on YouTube, linked below.
Watch: Wilmette – “Circa ’99”
Wilmette vocalist Aaron Hailey had this to share about their new song: “Everyone loves a bit of cliché nostalgia, which is why we wrote ‘Circa ’99’. But, the funny part is, most of the band was born in ‘97, so we were really only 3.”
Turns out, the members of Wilmette were nostalgic from a young age… a very young age…

“The [upcoming] album promises to be a high-energy, emotionally-charged collection of songs that explore themes of loss and personal growth. The band worked closely with producer Seth Henderson (Real Friends, Knuckle Puck) to craft a sound that is both raw and polished, capturing the energy and passion of their live shows while also showcasing their growth as musicians and songwriters.”
Sounds like it will be a real treat! Make sure to pre-save this one.
While you wait for the album to come out, you can check out Wilmette’s 2019 EP, Anxious Body, which gives a taste of their empathic songwriting and fresh take on pop-infused, yet still hard enough for the hardcore kids, musical stylings.
