We got curious and decided to look into acts eligible for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2024. The rules state that artists are eligible 25 years after their first commercial album release. It’s hard to believe some of these bands and artists have been doing their thing for more than two decades, but here we are. Take the poll below and let us know what you think.

11. Evanescence
While Evanescence’s breakthrough album Fallen dropped in 2003 they did release several EPs and a demo prior to that. “Bring Me To Life” recently passed one billion views on YouTube and the band is still going strong.
10. Death Cab For Cutie
Indie darlings Death Cab For Cutie started out as a side project for frontman Ben Gibbard. Nine studio albums and more than three dozen singles later, they’ll be up for consideration for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2024.
9. Godsmack
Godsmack’s self-titled debut album was released in 1998. The breakthrough album featured active rock staples like “Whatever”, “Keep Away” and “Voodoo”. The band has toured packed arenas ever since. Their most recent studio album When Legends Rise was released in 2018.
8. Christina Aguilera
Christina Aguilera might be the most talented vocalist on this list. No disrespect to the other artists here but her vocal range is hard to compete with. Her self-titled debut album released in 1999 spawned the hits “Genie In A Bottle”, “What A Girl Wants” and “Come On Over”.
7. System of a Down
While the band has only released five studio albums, they’ve certainly managed to leave their mark. While their debut effort in 1998 set the table, they really broke through in 2001 with the Toxicity album. “Chop Suey” and “Aerials”, along with the title track are some of the biggest rock songs of the 2000s.
6. Susan Tedeschi
Renowned singer and guitarist Susan Tedeschi formed her first band in the early 1990s after attending Berklee College of Music in Boston. Her debut was released in 1993 but it was 1998s Just Won’t Burn album that really helped to put her on the map. In 2001 she married Derek Trucks of Allman Brothers fame. In 2010 they both put their solo bands on hiatus to form Tedeschi Trucks Band which continues to be one of America’s great blues rock bands.
5. Rob Zombie
Rob Zombie released four studio albums with White Zombie before setting out on his own. His debut solo album Hellbilly Deluxe debuted in the summer of 1998. He’s a talented singer, songwriter, and director but is it enough to be considered?
4. Lauryn Hill
Lauryn Hill’s solo debut featured the hit singles “Doo Wop (That Thing)”, “Ex-Factor” and “Lost Ones”. She was a member of hip hop trio The Fugees and has won eight Grammy Awards. She’s widely considered one of the most influential hip hop artists of all time.
3. The White Stripes
Formed out of Detroit in 1997, Jack and Meg White released their debut album as The White Stripes in 1999. Their 2001 release White Blood Cells and 2003’s Elephant cemented their status as alt-rock icons. Although they split in the winter of 2011, Jack has continued on as a solo artist and producer while continuing to work with The Raconteurs and Dead Weather from time to time. He’s got a real shot of getting into the hall as a solo artist as well.
2. Brittney Spears
One of the world’s best-selling artists of all time, Brittney Spears released her debut album …Baby One More Time in 1999. The album has sold over 25 million copies since its release. Since then she’s had six number-one albums and has had several songs top the Billboard Chart.
1. Coldplay
Formed in 1996, they released their Safety EP in 1998. Their debut full-length album Parachutes in 2000 featured the breakout hit “Yellow” along with “Shiver”, “Trouble”, and “Don’t Panic”. They’ve developed a worldwide fanbase and continue to be one of the biggest concert draws to this day.
