Melodic rockers Redlight King are back on the scene with a big agenda. “In Our Blood” is the uplifting new single that’s set to be included on their fourth studio album set for release this fall. To prepare they’ve got a series of festival shows lined up with more concert dates in the works.
Redlight King broke out in 2011 with their debut album Something For The Pain. Their single “Bullet In My Hand” made it to #3 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart and made waves with the reimagined version of Neil Young’s “Old Man“. Young himself approved of the sample in the song. Irons In The Fire and Moonshine followed. The band has had songs featured in the movies Avengers, Iron Man 3, and TVs Malcolm In The Middle.
For the new full-length album, they’ve signed a record deal with AFM Records with the official release date is still to be determined. Frontman Mark ‘Kaz’ Kasprzyk wrote and produced the new album at his studio The Wheelhouse located in Los Angeles. He was joined by longtime collaborator/songwriter Julian Tomarin (guitar) and drummer Randy Cooke.
Hitting the Road
Along with the new single and album announcement, Redlight King has announced sets at several of America’s major rock festivals. Keep your eyes peeled for a performance at Welcome To Rockville in Daytona in May. They’ll be following that up with appearances at Blue Ridge Rock Festival and Louder Than Life, both in September.
‘Kaz’ had this to say when asked about the meaning behind the new single.
‘In Our Blood’ captures the human spirit and gives a sense of hope that we can break through the generational cycles of classism set in place to divide us. When I sing the song I think of my family, I think about my grandfather fighting in WW2, the things they went through, the sacrifices they made and that my parents made as well. I think of my bandmates and the audience we play for. We are all trying to make the best of this journey. We all bleed the same color and we’re all in this together.’
