An introspective new Mayday Parade single called “Losing My Mind” is available now. The band is gearing up for a busy summer with dates in the UK followed by a full US tour.
“Losing My Mind” is an outtake from their 2021 studio release What It Means To Fall Apart. They teamed up with multi-platinum producers Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount on the project. According to co-vocalist/drummer Jake Bundrick, the song is ‘about being alone and missing the one that got away.’ I think we’ve all been there.
The one-shot visualizer accompanying the single release might make you a little hungry. That is if you like cake. You can check that out below if you like. Mayday Parade teamed up with Dark Hearth (AFI, Tony Hawk) on the visuals. The first 3+ minutes show the cake being made and is oddly satisfying. We weren’t sure what direction they’d take but the climax is fitting and occupies the last 40 seconds or so.
Anniversary Tour + Sad Summer Fest
As for the busy tour schedule, they’ll be continuing the 11-year anniversary tour celebrating the release of their self-titled album. That run of shows kicks off on May 31st in the UK. They’ll be across the pond for a little more than a week before kicking off the US tour in July.
The Sad Summer Fest Tour with Waterparks and Neck Deep kicks off in Sacramento, California on July 8th and runs through August 5th in Milwaukee, WI. They’ll wrap things up this fall when they play both weekends of the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas.
