Singer, musician, writer, and actor Greg Amici is back at it. He’s gearing up for the release of his new album “Tragicomic”. “Greenwood” is the new single and is available on streaming platforms now.
Amici taps into an interesting backstory on “Greenwood.” He explains that during a severe bout of depression in the 90’s he decided to visit a Brooklyn cemetery called Green-Wood. As the final resting place of many new New Yorkers, he came across a tombstone with a photo of a 30-year-old guy in a leather jacket.
From there Amici’s imagination took over. Curious as to how the man passed, he thought it would be cool if he could feel the presence of his younger sister visiting his grave. The twist is, she’s now middle-aged and old enough to be his mother.
“Greenwood” features an accomplished group of musicians including Amici on lead vocals, James Mastro (guitars, piano, backing vocals) Joe August Gentile (backing vocals), Renee LoBue (backing vocals) and Ray Ketchem (drums, percussion). Mastro produced the track at Magic Door Recording.
