Punk Rockers Venerea Release Nostalgic ‘Euro Trash’ Album

Swedish punk rockers Venerea have unleashed a new album that feels nostalgic yet fresh. Euro Trash features high-octane songs like "Blind Faith", "A Case of Corona" and the summer anthem "Summer of 94". We're hearing influences from bands like Bad Religion, The Offspring, and Green Day. And our only regret is that we're just discovering them now. Venerea formed out of Malmö, Sweden in 1991 and according to their bio, will be around until the end of time. Frankly, we love the optimistic outlook on their future. Their dual guitar/dual vocal approach results in a full melodic sound that is infectious. Recorded In Sweden The band fancies themselves as punk rock storytellers. The material on Euro Trash covers topics from humorous to political. Everything from tales of their mus...

Punk Rockers Handheld Pay Tribute To John Candy In New Music Video

Canadian punk rockers Handheld have delivered the John Candy tribute you might not have realized you needed. "Leaving Candyland" is a fun up-tempo homage to one of comedy's true legends. The music video features band members dressed up as a number of Candy's classic movie and television characters. How many can you spot? A Canadian Tragedy is the first new album in 14 years from Handheld. They formed in 1998 out of Ontario and are known for their loud, fast, and melodic punk rock jams. Fans of bands like Bad Religion, NOFX and Rise Against will feel right at home. We're hearing a hint of Blink 182 on "Leaving Candyland" too. And it's not just what appears to be a similar sense of humor. Handheld released six albums/EPs over a 10-year period from 1998 to 2008. From there they we...

Tickets to one of the 2021 tours we're most excited about just went on sale. Bad Religion and Alkaline Trio were scheduled to hit the road together just as the pandemic was setting in last year. The co-headline tour kicks off October 15 in Riverside California and will head cross country before wrapping up November 26 with a show in Hollywood, CA. Joining a growing list of acts who have announced rescheduled dates, there's optimism we won't see a COVID resurgence and any more forced cancellations. Major touring acts like Foo Fighters and the Hella Mega bands (Green Day, Weezer, Fall Out Boy) have opted to hit the road. While stand-alone festivals like Coachella and Burning Man have opted to punt until 2022. So that leads to the question, are you ready to go back to concerts yet? ...
