With a title like “Amphetamine Smiles”, I couldn’t help but check out the new Taking Back Sunday single. This heart-wrenching single serves as the third teaser track and opening song for the band’s upcoming LP, 152, which is the band’s first album in seven years.

Speaking on the song, the band shares, “You could document the writing, arranging, and recording of ‘Amphetamine Smiles,’ but there’s no way to explain how it came together… It’s the product of some kind of magic.”

Taking Back Sunday celebrates ‘152’
152 is due out October 27 via Fantasy Records. To commemorate the occasion, the band announced a few intimate release shows across the United States: November 6, at Lodge Room in Los Angeles; November 9, at Eastside Bowl in Nashville; November 13, at Bowery Ballroom in NYC.

Speaking on the new album, the band shares: “Our new album offers a lot more hope and light than we first realized when we were in the thick of it, putting it all together. We’ve been fortunate enough, through our music, to grow up with a lot of people going through the same things at the same time, and probably feeling the same way. Our hope is that you’re able to find a little bit of yourself in this new collection of songs, because you’re not alone, and neither are we.”
