Singer/Songwriter Greg Amici Returns With Aquatic Themed Lyric Video For “Ship Strike”

The multi-talented musician, writer, and actor Greg Amici is back with another innovative music video. “Ship Strike” is set to be featured on Amici’s forthcoming album Tragicomic and the lyric video is out now.

When asked about the inspiration behind the song, Amici admits he went outside his comfort zone. He’s traditionally resisted writing protest-type songs in an attempt to avoid coming across as preachy.

However, when someone close to him requested he shine a light on the plight of whales and the impact of shipping on their nighttime swimming habits, he was inspired to write “Ship Strike”. Amici hopes to call attention to the issue and help push technology forward that could potentially be a solution to a complex problem.

While originally written on piano, something was missing. Amici discovered the vibe was better suited as a reggae-inspired sea shanty of sorts. Produced by Janes Mastro at Magic Door Recording in New Jersey, the track features Amici on lead vocals along with James Mastro, Tony Shanahan, Dennis Dibrizzi, Joe August Gentile, Renee LoBue, and Ray Ketchem.
