Coheed and Cambria come out of the gate hard on their latest single ‘Shoulders’. The track, released back in July, gets the produced music video treatment and it was worth the wait.
If you’ve ever seen a Coheed video, you may recognize the theme. Band rocks out, weird stuff happens all around them. But it’s a formula that works. And if you look a little deeper, you might even find a deeper meaning. What a concept.
Admittedly I’m a big supporter of this band, it can be difficult to be objective when it’s tough to turn the fanboy off. But this band deserves all the success they’ve attained up until this point. Instead of getting frustrated by not being entirely accepted by the ‘mainstream, Coheed and Cambria have been able to carve out an impressive existence for themselves while maintaining creative control over their music and selling out venues across the country every time they tour.
Keep your eyes out for Coheed and Cambria on the road, their tour with The Used kicks of in late August in Los Angeles. For updates, you can follow Coheed on Twitter and Instagram.
‘Shoulders’ Lyrics
Listen now that I’ve got your attention
Got to let it, you know
I hate to see you go, now that you’re gone We can enjoy the show
When you find them laughing at you
There’s no worst thing
Hey
My wicked eyes do see
That I’m the one with the world on my shoulders
You’re going out of your way
Just to keep me down
Maybe we weren’t made for each other
And I’m just the one you can keep around
Maybe all things have their misconceptions
That’s the life you chose
Everyone is laughing at you, out to get you
But change is the exception
Time to brave your life outside this shadow
When they keep laughing at you
Dear, you got to say
Hey
My wicked eyes do see
That I’m the one With the world on my shoulders
You’re going out of your way
Just to keep me down
Maybe we weren’t made for each other
And I’m just the one you can keep around
I’m the one with the world on my shoulders
I’m the one With the world on my shoulders
You’re going out of your way
Just to keep me down
Maybe we weren’t made for each other
And I’m just the one you can keep around
You’re going out of your way
Yeah, you’re kicking me down
Maybe we weren’t made for each other
But there’s way worse things to keep around
