Hard to believe it’s been 20 years. Experimental alt/rockers Muse are set to reflect upon the success of their sophomore album release Origin of Symmetry. The new XX Anniversary Remixx Edition will be released on June 18.
The album originally topped the charts in the UK in July of 2001 but wasn’t available in the United States until four years later due to some issues with the record label. By then US fans were wrapping their heads around songs from the Absolution album which included break-out singles ‘Time Is Running Out’ and ‘Hysteria’. So while a success across the pond and appreciated by fans, the album never got a proper spotlight in the states.
Muse’s Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenholme are celebrating their 27th year as a band. They’ve got two Grammy’s and a number of other awards to mark their time together. They’re widely considered one of the best live bands in the world.
The band is currently working on fresh material. While we wait for the new jams, you can pre-save and order the remix album now, here. Follow Muse on Twitter or Instagram for updates.
