The 63rd annual Grammy Awards took place Sunday night and winners were announced in each of the night’s 83 categories. Taylor Swift took home the award for Album of the Year for Folklore while Billie Eilish won Record of the Year for ‘Everything I Wanted’. The Trevor Noah hosted event included performances by everyone from Post Malone to Chris Martin of Coldplay. But there were two performances in particular that elevated both acts.
Black Puma has been around since 2018 and has gaining in popularity over the last few years. They were up for two awards and while they didn’t win, their performance of ‘Colors’ certainly turned some heads.
The debut of Bruno Mars, Anderson. Paak project Silk Sonic will surely be talked about in the coming days and weeks. Both acts brought vintage vibes that were a welcome presence. It’s expected we’ll see much demand for concert tickets for these two acts in particular when live events do make a comeback.
Other category wins included Megan Thee Stallion for Best New Artist, The Strokes and a Best Rock Album nod for The New Abnormal and Fiona Apples win for Best Alternative Album for Fetch The Boltcutters.
