Ian Flanigan Returns Home For The Holidays, With New Music On The Way

There’s something special about seeing a Hudson Valley musician come home after making a name for themselves on the national stage. Saugerties native Ian Flanigan will return to his hometown on Saturday, December 5, for Home for the Holidays, an intimate evening of live music and storytelling at the Orpheum Theatre. The show comes as Flanigan continues releasing new music, including his upcoming single, “Pretty Things,” due out October 23.

For local fans who have followed his journey, it’s a chance to reconnect with one of the Hudson Valley’s most recognizable voices.

From Saugerties to The Voice and Beyond

Long before millions of viewers discovered Ian Flanigan on NBC’s The Voice, he was putting in the miles as an independent musician. Flanigan started touring at just 17 years old. He built his following one show at a time, performing at festivals and venues across the country.

His national breakthrough came during Season 19 of The Voice. Competing on Team Blake, Flanigan finished in the Top 3 and earned some serious praise from Blake Shelton, who called him a “once-in-a-lifetime vocalist.”

If you’ve heard Ian sing, you know exactly what Shelton was talking about.

That deep, gravelly baritone is hard to mistake. But there’s more to his music than a memorable voice. His songwriting and natural ability to connect with an audience have helped him build a career well beyond the television spotlight. Along the way, he’s shared stages with Blake Shelton, Trace Adkins, Parker McCollum, Larry Fleet, and others.

New Music: “Pretty Things” Arrives October 23

Flanigan isn’t slowing down in the studio, either.

His next single, “Pretty Things,” arrives Friday, October 23, following the recent releases of “Through the Darkness” and “Long Way Home.”

The steady stream of new material gives fans plenty to explore ahead of his December homecoming. And with the Saugerties performance promising unreleased songs, there’s a good chance the hometown crowd will get an early look at what else he’s been working on.

It’s an exciting stretch for an artist who continues to move forward while staying connected to his roots.
