The multi-talented Marie Ulven is better known as girl in red and she’s about to take the music world by storm. The brand new album if I could make it go quiet is on track to be released Friday. Her new single ‘Serotonin’ is co-produced by GRAMMY-winning producer FINNEAS who recently took home eight awards for his work with sister Billie Eilish.
Ulven was due to breakout in 2020 with shows planned around the world. When everything was shut down due to the pandemic she would end up writing 11 songs at home in Oslo, Norway. When it came time to lay the tracks down, she would commute some eight hours back and forth to a studio in the Norwegian capital of Bergan. Often behind the wheel in her father’s borrowed car.
According to a press release, it was on these epic drives that she would listen and dissect the work she’d done in the studio. Time on the road gave her the opportunity to really reflect on the recording process and helped decide what she wanted these songs to be.
I really poured my heart into a lot of these lyrics, fully. I just feel like I emptied myself in this album.

On Monday night, May 3rd girl in red will make her debut on late-night television with an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. You can expect a performance of ‘Serotonin’ on the broadcast.
