Toronto-based Birds of Bellwoods have released “Firsts (Over And Over Again)” which you might have heard in a popular ABC drama. The song is featured on the band’s 10-track Everything You Want. The new album is set for release on February 10th via MNRK Music Group.
Birds of Bellwoods worked with Grammy-winning producer Dave Schiffman on the project. He’s known for his work with Vampire Weekend, Haim, and others. The result is an album packed with harmony-rich radio-friendly alt-rock tunes.

“Firsts” made its debut on an October 9th episode of ABCs The Rookie. As for the meaning behind the song, the band states it’s as much a poem as it is a song.
“It tells the story of a short relationship, from strangers to friends, friends to lovers, and lovers to strangers again, in two simple verses and a refrain.”

Everything You Want is the second full-length album for Birds of Bellwoods. Victoria made waves upon its release in 2018. The group consists of Stephen Joffe (vocals/mandolin), Adrian Morningstar (guitar/backing vocals), Chris Blades (guitar/synths/backing vocals), and Dylan Gowan (drums).
Joffe goes on to say that the new album is a “…celebration of anxiety. It’s shouting our hopes and our fears in a way that you can dance to. And everyone can say, yeah, I feel that too.”
You can connect with the band at their official website or follow along on Instagram and Twitter.
