MendoWerks Presents JamCast In Partnership With WKZE

Turn It Up: WKZE and DJ Simon Dunn Launches New Look at Jambands with “JamCast”

Improvisational rock music and the bands that deliver it with relentless abandon are the focus of a new weekly radio show launched by a new media start-up and hosted by a longtime New York DJ with a rich history and loyal following in New York’s Hudson Valley.

With a focus on jambands and the legacy rock bands that launched the genre, “JamCast” is poised to debut at 9 p.m. est, Monday, March 30, on WKZE (98.1 FM) and wkze.com. “JamCast” is produced by WKZE in the Hudson Valley; and MendoWerks Media, a new, cutting-edge, digital music news outlet.

Jambands on the FM dial

The two-hour listening experience that is “JamCast” is hosted by Simon Dunn, who is known from having served as Program Director and PM Drive host at WRRV-FM, a Townsquare station in Poughkeepsie, NY. Dunn also spent a decade with Cumulus Media as Music Director.

“I look forward to shining a light on jambands old and new while supporting the next wave of artists in the scene that are making waves,” Dunn said.

What to expect

JamCast is built for listeners rooted in the live music and festival circuit, devotees who earned their bones touring with the Grateful Dead and Phish, and attending festivals like Bonnaroo, All Good and Gathering of the Vibes.

JamCast is a platform for discovery with an emphasis on that which binds legacy acts and the current generation of touring and recording artists. The inside-out perspective on jambands aligns with MendoWerks Media’s broader strategy of building audience-first media properties that can scale across radio, digital, and live event environments.
