It’s almost criminal that Biffy Clyro aren’t already one of the biggest bands on the planet. In the UK and Europe, this Scottish trio is rock royalty, headlining Reading and Leeds, packing arenas, and commanding festivals with the kind of confidence that comes from doing this at the highest level for more than 20 years. In the U.S., however, they’re often still treated like a cult favorite. That needs to change, and their new album Futique, due out September 19th, will give everyone a chance to catch up.
The Futique era is already hitting like a tidal wave, with the first single “A Little Love” climbing fast. The second track, “Hunting Season” is turning heads, and their summer has seen the band picking up momentum: Glastonbury, Big Weekend sets, TRNSMT, and two sold-out nights at Eden Sessions. Biffy aren’t just back — they’re in takeover mode.
New Music
Now comes “True Believer,” arguably peak Biffy. It’s an anthem that blends their trademark quiet-loud punch, giant riffs, lush three-part harmonies, and unexpected sonic flourishes (yes, that’s a glockenspiel). Simon Neil’s lyrics dig into faith — not the religious kind, but the faith it takes to trust your choices and the people you love.
“Try not to doubt yourself so much,” Neil says. “Sometimes I look back and think, ‘Why did I make that decision?’ and actually, I knew exactly what I was doing.”
The response has been electric. A run of intimate acoustic shows sold out instantly, forcing the band to add matinee gigs, which also sold out. Their 2026 arena tour is shaping up as a coronation, with Manchester, Cardiff, and Glasgow gone in under 24 hours and European dates vanishing fast.
Impact
Biffy Clyro aren’t just another alt-rock act — they’re one of the most vital bands on Earth. If you’re not already listening, you’re missing out on a rare band that can be tender and ferocious in the same breath, turning three-minute songs into stadium-sized moments. Futique isn’t just their next chapter — it’s their bid for the next level. Time to pay attention.
