NEW PALTZ, NY — Dylan Doyle has spent the last decade building a reputation on the back of sweat-drenched live shows and a genre-bending sound that fuses blues, funk, and Americana. But with his new single “Endlessly” — out now on all streaming platforms — Doyle slows things down and leans hard into vulnerability, delivering a lush, R&B-tinged meditation on love, memory, and the weight of time.
The track is the first look at Another Shade of Blue, Doyle’s forthcoming EP, due September 12. Built around a mellow groove and intentional guitarwork, “Endlessly” sounds like the kind of song you listen to when the party’s long over and you’re driving home with the windows down — nostalgic but not bitter, aching but still hopeful.
“It’s about remembering what it felt like to fall in love — and wondering how to find that again, The whole album carries this theme of reflection, with different moods running through it.” -Doyle
Musical Evolution
It’s a noticeable evolution from Doyle’s earlier, more explosive sound. But fans of his storytelling will find plenty to hold onto. There are echoes of Mayer and Withers in the phrasing, flashes of Roberta Flack’s warmth, and a lyrical sensibility steeped in the best of classic rock and soul.
The EP, Doyle’s fourth independent release, was recorded and co-arranged by Manuel Quintana at Beet Recording Studio, and mastered by Danny Blume. A supporting cast of collaborators — including Luke McCrosson (bass on “Endlessly”), Scott Milici, Jeremy Baum, and Kyle Esposito — round out the project with rich textures and grounded grooves.
Just Getting Started…
At 28, Doyle is no longer the wunderkind tearing up Hudson Valley clubs as a teen. With hundreds of shows under his belt and nods from legends like Little Feat’s Bill Payne and Conan O’Brien’s Jimmy Vivino, he’s a seasoned artist channeling real-life mileage into his work.
Two release shows are on deck: September 12 at Club Groove in Manhattan and September 13 at The Falcon in Marlboro, NY. If “Endlessly” is the emotional compass for what’s to come, this EP is going to land with impact.
