Fitz And The Tantrums Bring The Summer Vibes On “Sway”

Fitz and the Tantrums are back with a new single called “Sway”. The upbeat track is their first new material in three years and is just oozing with summer vibes. The accompanying music video is a feel-good nod to the 1950s.

While the band plans to release more new music later this year, the new track sets the table nicely for a busy summer tour schedule. Through June 25th, Fitz and the Tantrums are on a co-headlining tour with St. Paul & the Broken Bones. From there they’ve got about a month off before heading back out with Andy Grammer beginning July 29th. The co-headlining tour will run through an August 27th show at the legendary Greek Theater in Los Angeles.

Fitz and the Tantrums are known for their danceable anthems and have scored a number of massive hits along the way. “Out of My League”, “The Walker” and “Handclap” stand out as their most recognizable material to date. And when asked about the new material, Fitz had this to say.

“Since the beginning, we’ve always set out to get people up on their feet, smiling and dancing when they hear our music.  ‘Sway’ felt like it had that special sauce when we were making it in the studio, and we’re already seeing the song work its magic when we play it live.”

What Have They Been Up To?

The band has been hard at work on a follow-up to 2019s All The Feels. Frontman Michael ‘Fitz’ Fitzpatrick released his first solo album Head Up High in 2021 under the FITZ moniker. Co-lead vocalist Noelle Scaggs has been busy founding the Diversify the Stage initiative. The organization aims to help foster more inclusive concerts and events in historically underrepresented communities. More information can be found here.

Rounding out the L.A.-based bands’ lineup, there’s James King on saxophone & flute and Jeremey Ruzzumna on keyboards. The Fitz and the Tantrums rhythm section is held down by Joseph Karnes on bass and John Wicks on drums.
