July is shaping up to be a strong month for new music releases. Here’s a look at five albums you should be ready to consume. We understand you’re probably going to stream music. But, we do consider physical album copies an important part of the listening experience too. So thank you to those who support your local record shop.

1. Metric Formentera
Release Date: July 8th
Metric returns with their 8th studio album Formentera. It’s their first new release since 2018s Art of Doubt. They’re heading out on a North American tour beginning in early August and running through late October to support the release.

2. Interpol The Other Side of Make Believe
Release Date: July 15th
Not to be confused with the international crime fight organization, Interpol is back with a new album. While not an original joke pertaining to fighting crime, we’ll use it whenever it feels prudent. And with nearly four years in between album cycles, we haven’t had a chance to dust it off lately. The Other Side of Make Believe is the band’s first release since 2018’s Marauder.

3. beabadoobee Beatopia
Release Date: July 15th
Beabadoobee is back with her second full-length album Beatopia. Expect no sophomore album slump here as she continues to pick up momentum with 14 new songs on deck. We’re just glad we stumbled upon this Pitchfork article because we were pronouncing the title ALL wrong.

4. Jack White Entering Heaven Alive
Release Date: July 22nd
Jack White continues to break new ground as an artist. Entering Heaven Alive is his second album release of 2022 following Fear of the Dawn which was released back in April. White has accumulated 12 Grammy Award wins to date, will he add a few more to the total thanks to these albums?

5. The Kooks 10 Tracks to Echo in the Dark
Release Date: July 22nd
The Kooks are back with their sixth studio album and while they’ve accumulated fans all over the globe, we feel they’ve been a little underappreciated to date. Perhaps with 10 Tracks to Echo in the Dark, they’ll start getting the respect they deserve.

Honorable Mentions: Lizzo Special on July 15th, Ben Harper Bloodline Maintenance on the 22nd, and Beyonce RENAISSANCE on the 29th. Lizzo and Beyonce are set to have the biggest releases of the month by a long shot. So enjoy some #newmusic and let us know what you’re into.
