Five October Album Releases That Should Be On Your Radar

October is shaping up to be a great month for new music releases. Here’s a look at five album drops that you might want to consider. Streaming is fine but please consider supporting your local independent record store.

1. Broken Bells Into The Blue

Release Date: October 7th

Broken Bells are made up of producer Danger Mouse and frontman of The Shins, James Mercer. Into The Blue is the group’s first new album since 2014s After The Disco. Standout tracks from the new album include “Saturdays”, “Love On The Run”, and “We’re Not In Orbin Yet…”.

2. Dayglow People In Motion

Release Date: October 7th

Dayglow was founded by Sloan Christian Struble in 2017. He started to teach himself how to play instruments at just 11 years old. He broke out with the gold-certified single “Can I Call You Tonight” off of 2018s Fuzzybrain. The album Harmony House dropped in the spring of 2021 and its already time for more new music.

3. Red Hot Chili Peppers Return Of The Dream Canteen

Release Date: October 14th

The return of John Frusciante has sparked a prolific period in the history of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Return of the Dream Canteen is their second new album of the year. Legendary producer Rick Rubin was involved in both projects.

4. The 1975 Being Funny In A Foreign Language

Release Date: October 14th

The 1975 are celebrating their 20th year as a band and are just hitting their stride. Being Funny In A Foreign Language is their fifth studio album. Standout tracks from the album include “Part of the Band”, “Happiness”, and “I’m In Love With You”. Check out their performance on Later…with Jools Holland.

5. Arctic Monkeys The Car

Release Date: October 21st

Arctic Monkeys are back with their first new album in four years. The Car follows Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino which was released in the spring of 2018.
